Community Empowerment
Helping shape the future of our neighborhoods
Community Empowerment requires residents to take an active role in decisions that make their neighborhoods successful, vibrant and high-functioning places to live.
“Our responsibility is to work with community residents to empower them to want to make a difference in their community.”
– Juanita, BNCP Site Coordinator

Building Neighborhood Capacity Program
Everyone deserves to live in a safe and vital community. The Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BNCP) brings positive change to neighborhoods that have historically faced barriers to revitalization. BNCP helps communities transform themselves into neighborhoods of opportunity. By drawing on a combination of shared knowledge, skills, building relationships and utilizing resources; residents, local organizations and community partners learn to work together to achieve promising results. Our Building Neighborhood Capacity Program focuses on a 1.5 square mile area of neighborhoods made up of Clarke Square, Muskego Way and Historic Mitchell Street.
